Virgin Sturgeon

Food and service were spot on. We had the trout and crab sandwiches for the main course and started off with the combination platter and shrimp cocktail. The smoked sturgeon was perfect and better than I remembered. Its actually what brought me in but the location on the river and the people will bring us back.

Very good atmosphere ! We enjoyed the bean dip and cajun chicken sandwich! Robert, the manager, was very nice and greeted customers! We will definitely be back!

The Sturgeon was a last minute decision and I’m glad we went! The restaurant is set down on the river, so the parking is all on the side of the road above, but there’s plenty of space. We went down the tunnel which was vaguely shaky seeming, but fun and kitschy. The interior is casual and comfortable. Everything except the bad has a pretty good view of the Sacramento River. Our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable. She really made us feel special. The bread is fresh made and delicious. The scratch made cream of broccoli soup was amazing, very savory with a nice hint of rosemary. The linguini and clams had the most generous helping of clams I’ve had in the dish. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the dill sauce matched it well. You can exit to a small dock that is in use by customers boating in from the river. It’s nice and peaceful at sunset. I even briefly saw a seal. Highly recommended!

My steak was good. Good scenery. The waitress was nice. My date was a dud but that isn't the restaurant's fault.

Great cozy spot right in the river. Went for dinner and were greeted right away, got a nice seat at the window and the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly and warm. It’s decorated so pretty for Christmas and the BVQ platter was exactly the comfort food I was looking for.They start you off with a basket of warm bread and soft butter. That’s right, actually nice soft spreadable butter.They have great cocktails with real pours. Full bar is stocked and beer on tap. This is a true neighborhood restaurant with a reason it’s been around so long.

It's on the river. Several of my friends go there quite often. Sat on a log under the trees with my girlfriend and watched people come and go while we ate. Only happy faces on folks going in and out. Worth checking it out.

Social distancing was weak among the customers though the staff seemed to be trying. This review is for two visits. One around sundown on a Saturday and one two weeks, on a Sunday morning. Both times I ordered at the bar. It did not feel comfortable eating at the restaurant with no customers wearing masks inside at tables, and some customers in the bar without masks. The breakfast assessment: the cook does not like making breakfast. The chicken friend steak was thin and stringy. The over medium eggs were a bit too crispy at the edges and pretty oily. The coffee (not available to go) was temperate enough to drink while waiting for the to-go order. The Reuben was served cold. It's like any other Cisco-sourced food stuff and mixers in the drinks.

Hard to beat! The prices are just right the food is delicious the drinks are amazing!and you ain't going to beat this riverfront dining in Sacramento! ❤️

Been years since I've been there, hasn't changed. nice - relaxing place - enjoyed the food/drinks - river views. Will definitely go back.

Casual dive with great food.Enter the old TWA entrance ramp and its all downhill from there (wheelchair friendly).As the river goes up or down, the ramp and whole restaurant floats with it.Cool place.. not for the shy

My husband and I visited the restaurant this afternoon and we wanted to publicly thank Jacob L. for his great service. We enjoyed the food and loved the restaurant! We will come back again soon! We highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

We wanted seafood while we were in town and found this place was just a short walk from our hotel. We were greeted quickly and seated right by a window that opened to the river. Super cool. Boats were coming in and out, which was fun to watch while we ate. The food was good, but not amazing. The drinks were also good, but sweet and somewhat watered down.

Very good food. Only one waitress there when we went so service was a little slow and she kept forgetting stuff. But everyone was very nice and food was great. Calamari is a little tougher than we are used to but still good. Salmon dish, tortellini dish, and clam chowder all amazing. Also, can't beat the view, it's right on the river. Definitely would recommend.

Always great. Good spread on offer. Old time good service and great prices for what it is. Note that this place is floating on the Sacramento River so it's fun to just watch the boat traffic. If you go, take note of the ramp to the shore is an adapted airport jetway. Some customers are walking in from the adjacent floating docs.

Great place to have brunch. Built on top of the river. Make sure to get a seat facing the river for the best experience. You can see people kayak, parasail and boat through the river. It's a beautiful site specially when the tree leaves are changing colors.Breakfast menu is great. Their sausages are a must try. Staff is pretty active and warm. Perfect place to sit down, relax and chat.Make sure to get a reservation on weekends if you are planning to go there. Otherwise you may have to wait.There is no dedicated parking spot. You just have to park on the side of the road.
